The Buddhist Monks

chimp-thinkingYou loved me still
Even after that first wave
Buckled my knees
And we became one
With the water.

You – the laughter
Held in my arms
Eyes wide, but brimming with life.
Never turning away from mine.

You’d swim with me again, and again.
My childish arms and legs
Fumbling up the pool stairs
Not quite getting there.

You in my arms
Looking only at me.
In me. Through me.
And I seeing only love.

  1. God, how I wish I could remain lost in those moments when all I could see was love… but children become men, who can change your point of view. I know you can still see it… mercifully.
